Verified review

A review written by someone who actually bought the listing, one per purchase.

Reviews here require a completed order and are limited to one per order, which produces far fewer reviews than an open system and far more useful ones.

Reviews are two sided and revealed blind: neither party sees the other's until both have submitted or fourteen days have passed. Field experiments on this design found it produces more reviews overall, less retaliation and lower average ratings, which is what honest ratings look like.

Why it matters

An open review system in a category with infinite cheap supply becomes a market for fake reviews within months.

The mistake everyone makes

Comparing review counts here against an open marketplace. Twelve verified reviews carry more information than four hundred unverified ones.
