Buying and selling
Seller health
A maker's refund rate, dispute rate and response time, published on their storefront.
Most marketplaces track a metric like this and keep it private, showing it only to the seller. Here it is public.
It is a bet that honest makers benefit from it, and that a buyer deciding between two similar listings should be able to see which maker answers.
Why it matters
It is a signal that cannot be gamed by writing better copy, which is most of what a listing page otherwise is.
The mistake everyone makes
Reading a high refund rate as dishonesty. On metered listings it more often means the pricing was unclear.
