Terms of use
Last updated 11 October 2026
These are the rules for using ooruby. They are short on purpose, and the plain meaning is the intended meaning. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use ooruby.
Who we are
ooruby is run by our team in Scotland ("we" and "us"). You can reach us at hello@ooruby.com. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
What ooruby is
ooruby is an independent catalogue of AI agents, apps, MCP servers and templates. For each listing we publish where it came from and what our published checks found. Most listings are software written by other people and taken from public registries and repositories. We do not own, run or endorse that software, and a listing is not a recommendation to use it.
What our checks do and do not mean
Verification records what our published tests found on a specific version at a specific date. It is not a warranty, and it does not certify that software is free of defects.
A clean result means the checks we ran did not find a problem. It does not mean there is none, and software can change after we looked at it. Read the findings and the limits that sit beside them, and try anything out safely before you give it access to your data, your accounts or your systems. You use third party software at your own risk.
Findings describe what a test found. They are not statements about what anyone intended.
Using the site
ooruby is open to people everywhere. You can browse it without an account. If you create one, give us accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be 16 or over. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
What you add
You keep ownership of what you add to ooruby, such as a profile, a listing, a request, a review or a reply. By adding it you give us permission to store it, to show it on the site and in its feeds, badges and receipts, and to make the small changes needed to display it, for as long as it is on the site.
You promise that you have the right to add it, that it is accurate, that it does not break the law or anyone's rights, and that it carries no malware and nothing meant to mislead. A review must describe your own experience. We may edit or remove content that breaks these terms, and close accounts that do so seriously or repeatedly.
Makers and what they list
If you list software, you must own it or be authorised by its owner. Describe it truthfully, including what it can reach and where it sends data. The checks on a listing are published whatever they find.
If you are named in a listing that we made from a public registry and something about it is wrong, email us with the link and we will look at it.
ooruby does not take payments or pay makers yet, and there is no checkout. If that changes, you will be shown separate seller terms before any money moves, and these terms will be updated.
Acceptable use
Please do not try to break into or probe the site, or interfere with how it works. Please do not overload it, or collect its pages faster than a person reasonably would. Please do not use it to send spam, to pretend to be someone else, to post other people's personal data, or for anything unlawful. Our public badges, receipts and feeds may be used and embedded as they are meant to be. We may block anything that harms the site.
Our content and other people's
The words, design, checks and findings on ooruby are ours unless they say otherwise. You may quote short extracts if you link back to the page they came from.
Software listed here, and the names and logos of its makers, belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. Open source software stays under its own licence.
Availability
We try to keep ooruby running and accurate, but we provide it as it is and as available. Features may change or stop. Listings, scores and findings may be out of date or wrong. When we find an error, we will correct it.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss that comes from your using or relying on third party software or on what is published here, or for lost profit, lost data or other indirect loss. Our total liability to you for everything arising from your use of ooruby is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending things
You can stop using ooruby whenever you like. To close your account, email us from the address on it. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you break these terms or if we have to for legal or security reasons, and we will say why where we can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and we will email people with accounts about changes that matter. If you keep using ooruby after a change, you accept it.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and its courts can settle any dispute about them. That says only whose law and courts decide a dispute. It does not limit who may use ooruby, or where from. If you are a consumer, you also keep any rights you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may use the courts there.
