MCP Local Rag
yikizi · MCP server
Local RAG for your AI assistant. Point it at a folder and it extracts text from PDF, DOCX, text, Markdown and code files, splits it into chunks, embeds them with a local model and stores them in a local LanceDB database. Search combines keyword matching with semantic similarity, so exact terms such as function names and error codes are found alongside matches by meaning. You can also store text snippets as memory, list and delete ingested files and check status. The first run downloads the embedding model.

Why it's useful
Your agent can answer questions from your own documents and code while the files stay on your machine.
What you could do with it
- Ingest an API specification PDF, then ask your agent what it says about authentication.
- Search ingested code for an exact term such as a hook name or error code and get matching chunks back.
- Save a code snippet or note as text in memory and find it again later with a search.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured
What this does not cover
- Everything. Treat it as you would software from anywhere else.
Receipt history: every signed receipt for every version of this listing, and what changed between them.

Indexed
- What it establishes
- It exists, we found it, and its source resolves to a real place.
- What it does not
- Nothing else. Nobody has read it, run it, or checked who wrote it. Treat it exactly as you would a repository you found yourself.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
Not read, deliberately. The published package is 79 MB, above the size this scanner reads. Raising the limit would mean reporting a clean scan of a few source files sitting beside a great deal of compiled code nobody here has looked at, which is a worse answer than this one.

No build provenance published. The repository above is the one the publisher declared, and nothing links it to the package you would install. That is not a mark against this listing, since most packages are published this way, but it is a check nobody can run.
The badge, if this is your listing
It renders the current rung (indexed) and links back here, where what that does and does not establish is one click away. It updates itself as the evidence deepens.
