Adds Storybook component and story documentation tools to an MCP server you run yourself.
Maplibre MCP
birkskyum · MCP server
Maplibre MCP gives an AI assistant tools for working on MapLibre map styles. It validates a style against the MapLibre Style Specification, explains why a layer draws nothing at a given place and zoom, reads tile and source data, and renders the style to a PNG or a live preview link. It can compare two versions of a style, or the same style in two renderers, and look up MapLibre GL JS API details. The same rendering and data tools also run as commands in a shell.

Why it's useful
Style problems like a missing source layer, a filter that matches nothing or a missing icon can be traced by your agent instead of found by trial and error.
What you could do with it
- Ask your agent why a layer in your style draws nothing at a given zoom and location.
- Render a style to an image and compare it with an edited version, with the differences marked in red.
- Inspect a vector tile to see its source layers, field values and a few example features.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 0.9.2, the file with digest sha512-HfecoJKOgYbh0J/hys21R0AtWEo0lCz9mAJOvzRq6rdcFCWeOG921xqKsgken5q5uS7e4UXk0fpNQuXj0LB9Ig==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
