AI agent cost calculator
Turn a per-run price into the number that appears on your card. Set your volume, the measured cost per attempt and your real success rate, and see the bill including the retries nobody budgets for.
The thing most people get wrong
A metered vendor bills attempts. You were counting completions. At a 57 percent success rate with two retries, that is 1.61 times the advertised price before anything has gone wrong.
How to use it properly
- 1Take the measured cost per run from the listing you are considering, not the figure in the maker's own documentation. Where a listing shows no measured cost, we have not run it, and a blank should make you more cautious about a metered price rather than less.
- 2Set volume from the thing the agent replaces, your ticket count or your invoice count, rather than from your plans for it. Optimism about automation is the single largest source of error here.
- 3Set the success rate honestly. Independent testing of production agents in 2026 put the average near 57 percent, and your own tasks are usually harder than a benchmark's.
- 4Read the crossover. If your realistic volume is anywhere near the point where a fixed price wins, take the fixed price and buy the certainty rather than the discount.
