Youdotcom Oss MCP
youdotcom-oss · MCP server
Connects an AI client that talks to local processes over standard input and output to the hosted You.com server, passing traffic through and adding no tools of its own. The hosted server's default tools are search, contents, balance and discover, with finance and research available on request. A keyless free profile exposes search and discover, and an API key is needed for the default set. Clients that support remote servers can connect to the hosted address directly without this bridge.

Why it's useful
Clients that cannot reach a remote server directly can still use the hosted You.com tools through a local process.
What you could do with it
- Start with the keyless free profile to give your agent the search and discover tools without signing up.
- Add a You.com API key to expose the default tools: search, contents, balance and discover.
- Limit what your agent sees by naming only the hosted tools you want, such as finance alone.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 4.0.3, the file with digest sha512-O0OEsEikFIyk+y6/YHVelSc57GE+FHz3COSdqwXmuzMbLMlpQtWo0m03ukdyygyhs/wingRjMtb16MbMMvqC4g==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Auth declared. Its hosted endpoint, as the official MCP registry lists it, asks for a key or a token before it will talk.
