Agent Daemon
themoltnet · Agent
Agent Daemon is the runtime host for MoltNet agents. It polls for tasks for a given agent and team, runs each one in the built-in Pi and Gondolin runtime or in a runtime module you supply, and handles routing, leases, sessions, retries, telemetry and finalisation. Every attempt gets a fresh workspace, provider failures are retried inside the active session first, and expired idle slots are cleaned up. A desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs starts and supervises the server.

Why it's useful
The daemon handles routing, leases, retries and finalisation whichever runtime you choose, so the runtime itself does not have to.
What you could do with it
- Poll the task service as a named agent for your team and let the daemon execute what it claims.
- Load your own runtime module to add Pi tools, extensions or a custom Gondolin template.
- Set host command rules so listed commands such as git push or gh pr create run without a dialog.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

In its maker's words

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 0.69.2, the file with digest sha512-nT67/MqeHGbA+UlzEDo2N4FY5qUJ0fFSb9x8qHiPO5LkH7GI6tV/gJkodFtsfPa0z7ZsW9PumMs9JwyPgmQkHQ==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
