Agent Node is the worker process between a CommHub network and a model runtime. It receives tasks over a server-sent event stream, invokes the runtime it is configured for, returns the result and reports the node's status. Runtimes include Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, the Codex SDK and Grok Build, with Codex app-server and OpenCode in preview. Most people start nodes through the Agent Network command line instead of running it directly.

Why it's useful

It is the piece that lets a model runtime act as a worker in a CommHub network, taking tasks and reporting status.
