Catalogue/MCP servers/Node Repl MCP

Node Repl MCP

qwen-code · MCP server

Node Repl MCP is a standalone server that gives an AI client a Node.js REPL which keeps its state. Declared bindings, closures and module state persist across calls in a session, output is written explicitly as text or as PNG, JPEG or WebP images, and packages resolve from the session's node modules folder plus any folders you register. Timeouts and cancellation normally stop only the active cell, but a kernel that does not respond within five seconds of cancellation is terminated and loses its bindings. A reset discards all state.

Written by ooruby from the README of @qwen-code/node-repl-mcp 0.1.6.

Why it's useful

Your agent can experiment in JavaScript across several steps without losing its variables between calls.

What you could do with it

  1. 1Define a variable or helper in one call and reuse it in the next without running setup again.
  2. 2Import a package from your project's node modules folder and try it out interactively.
  3. 3Cancel a cell that is still running, or reset the kernel to discard every binding.

Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.

Maintenance

Not measured

No release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.

Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

How far this has been checked

Static scanned

What it establishes
Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
What it does not
How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
Exactly what was read
Version 0.1.6, the file with digest sha512-/tRY5paDOF6SF6DfRf91zEWujvNyCK5hRoWO/R+RmuZKDYSM9mL/aDA4uD+u1hj1q0k+cqWey7CU4GL6N9cP1A==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
Authentication
Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
