Openinputbridge MCP

appletllc · MCP server

Exposes the OpenInputBridge kernel-level keyboard and mouse input driver as tools an AI agent can call for GUI and native app test automation. It sends key presses, typed text, mouse moves, clicks and wheel scrolls, and has an exclusive mode that discards physical input so only the session's input reaches the app. It has no tools for reading physical input, and sending must be switched on first. It is intended for test environments you control.

Written by ooruby from the README of openinputbridge-mcp 0.1.1.

Not claimed by its maker. Is this yours? Prove it and answer the findings

Why it's useful

Your agent can drive a GUI or native app under test with driver-level keyboard and mouse input, and sending stays off until it is switched on.

What you could do with it

  1. 1Have your agent press key combinations such as Ctrl+A and type text into a native app under test.
  2. 2Move the mouse to absolute positions across several monitors, click any mouse button and scroll in either direction.
  3. 3Put a dedicated test machine in exclusive mode so only your agent's input reaches the application.

Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.

Maintenance

Not measured

No release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.

Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

no statement of what it reads, writes or sends (README.md)

Published because it was found. A finding is information about where the limits are, not a verdict that the software is unsafe.

How far this has been checked

Static scanned

What it establishes
Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
What it does not
How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
Exactly what was read
Version 0.1.1, the file with digest sha512-KcGujXkVmmR1TsT1f1PMJqSOTcjkzbDTS0dGZ4UJE7s0K+SyYq0qE51D4QjsybMeVjURZDg71V0lzuYOhV2v+w==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
Authentication
Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
