Changelog Bot
nyaomaru · App
Changelog Bot is a command line tool and GitHub Action that turns your Git history and release notes into a changelog entry, with an optional pull request, in one run. When a language model provider key is set it uses the model to write the section; without one it builds the entry from git logs or GitHub release notes. An opt-in step can add a short reason to Added, Changed, Fixed and Breaking items by reading pull request descriptions. It suits teams that keep a changelog file in their repository.

Why it's useful
Release notes are drafted from the commits and releases you already have, and you choose whether a language model is involved.
What you could do with it
- Run it in your release workflow to draft the changelog entry and open a pull request for it.
- Run it with no provider key to build the entry from git logs and see the fallback noted in the pull request.
- Turn on reason extraction so main changelog items carry a short why taken from pull request descriptions.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 0.7.0, the file with digest sha512-DK/VyaUMovCt5o5jgaACsaDkr96cBVpncRC2STsljrrhSQ7Ehfhx8pY9b44RVt+LsYZm1ArX0to90UMVtPQXwQ==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
