Mockzilla MCP
mockzilla · MCP server
Mockzilla MCP connects your AI assistant to Mockzilla, an open-source API mock server for OpenAPI specifications. On your machine your agent can install the Mockzilla command line, inspect and lint specs, simplify a spec that is too heavy to mock, serve a spec as a local mock server, call its endpoints and mock a single endpoint without a spec. After a browser login it can deploy hosted mocks from a spec, a URL or a catalogue bundle and return the live URL. It suits developers who want mock APIs without a real backend or sandbox account.

Why it's useful
You can get a working mock of an API from its OpenAPI spec without a real backend or a sandbox account, just by asking your agent.
What you could do with it
- Ask your agent to spin up the Petstore OpenAPI spec locally so you can call it with curl.
- Have your agent mock a checkout endpoint to return a 402 response without writing a spec.
- Ask your agent to generate Go models and a server from an OpenAPI file into a folder.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured
- Command execution is bounded
- inventory
- node child_process (lib/auth.js:6)
- node child_process (lib/discover.js:16)
- node child_process (lib/github.js:10)
- node child_process (lib/install.js:10)
- An inventory of where the code starts another program, not a verdict on this row: whether each one runs a fixed program or whatever it is handed takes a reading by hand.
Published because it was found. A finding is information about where the limits are, not a verdict that the software is unsafe.

In its maker's words
MCP server for Mockzilla (github.com/mockzilla/mockzilla-mcp). Lets Claude, Cursor, and Gemini CLI install the Mockzilla CLI, run local mock servers from OpenAPI specs, and mock individual endpoints, no account needed. Log in from the agent to deploy host

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 0.2.28, the file with digest sha512-nKaxXQUNdlBwd02/3zLG9FUngs8vifaUthe26rYI+KYOFh1Iae2iM2QvAfJUjyOWBma5EVVXU2nq+ah0Ggv2zQ==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
