MCP Pubmed Llm Server
xiaoyibao_npm · MCP server
Gives LLM agents structured access to PubMed literature while leaving the analysis to the model. It searches with Boolean and MeSH syntax, returns full details for one or many PMIDs, extracts key sections of a paper, finds related and review articles, and checks open-access status before downloading full-text PDFs. It draws on PubMed, PMC and Unpaywall, and every tool returns a uniform response with metadata and suggested next steps. It runs locally for an AI client or as a remote HTTP service, including in Docker.

Why it's useful
Your agent can look up biomedical papers itself and work from the records it retrieves, with the analysis left to the language model.
What you could do with it
- Search PubMed with Boolean or MeSH terms, limited to a number of days back and sorted the way you choose.
- Fetch full details for a batch of PMIDs, then extract the key sections of one paper.
- Find related and review articles for a paper you already have the PMID for.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 3.0.0, the file with digest sha512-CB/UuDJMuv16kN96ugVDJ6KYzG08RpCLji54GYR4iCFMovyhHZuvCcWIAwf3uvX0GZeA0Gtu9IFFzIzTaazjTw==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
