Converts PDFs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, images, audio, web pages and more to Markdown by running Microsoft's MarkItDown MCP server without Docker. On first run it creates an isolated Python environment, installs the MarkItDown server into it and manages the process. The server has one conversion tool that handles documents, images with OCR, audio with transcription when FFmpeg is installed, ZIP archives and CSV, JSON or XML data.
