Serves Malloy data models over an MCP endpoint and REST API so your agent queries models, not raw SQL.
Create Malloy Package
malloy-publisher · Template
Create Malloy Package scaffolds a Malloy Publisher package together with a local agent workspace. It produces a working semantic model over sample data and a pre-wired agent environment with an MCP connection, agent instructions and the Malloy agent skills. Once the server is running, the starter model can be queried from a web interface, over REST or by your agent. It suits people who want an agent answering questions about their data without editing setup files by hand.

Why it's useful
One command gives you a working data model and an agent already connected to it, so you can start asking questions without hand-editing setup.
What you could do with it
- Scaffold a package called sales and start the server to get a starter semantic model over sample data.
- List the server's packages to confirm yours loaded, then query one of the starter model's views over REST.
- Ask your agent a question about the sample data and let it run the query with the Malloy tools.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured
What this does not cover
- Everything. Treat it as you would software from anywhere else.
Receipt history: every signed receipt for every version of this listing, and what changed between them.
In its maker's words
Scaffold a Malloy Publisher package and a local agent workspace, so one command takes you from nothing to an agent that can query your data.

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 0.0.32, the file with digest sha512-r1q9hCR0Zae/fjziOIk5AujpqB766aMyG5mgipki8W1HLTYsM/YxPok7AIAi6bI/i2xDg4Uyy1NkxmpxbDhnqA==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
Adding it
Run it with:
