Litescrape MCP Server

litescraper · MCP server

Litescrape MCP Server connects your AI agent to the Litescrape API for web search. It returns Google results pages with Knowledge Graph, AI Overview and related questions, Bing and DuckDuckGo results, and Google Maps places with address, rating, hours, phone and website. With a Litescrape API key it also returns Google AI Mode answers with their sources, Shopping listings, Google Maps reviews and any public web page as Markdown, HTML, text or a screenshot, though page fetching is marked alpha. It runs locally or as a hosted endpoint.

Written by ooruby from the README of litescrape-mcp-server 0.3.0.

Why it's useful

Your agent can run live web searches across several engines with no sign-up, within a daily allowance, before you decide to add a key.

What you could do with it

  1. 1Look up places on Google Maps for a search and return their address, rating, opening hours and phone number.
  2. 2Run the same question on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo and compare what each one returns.
  3. 3With an API key, pull a Google Shopping product grid or a place's Google reviews into the chat.

Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.

Maintenance

Not measured

No release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.

Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured

How far this has been checked

Static scanned

What it establishes
Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
What it does not
How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
Exactly what was read
Version 0.3.0, the file with digest sha512-w7euR1rWXObWwbXa30Ka9yHdFanzqGwdT+UaHzaCwVOcq6O+sxroe23GlLJ/mmMtiJgaXJQO2QZgapEz3MkPWQ==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
Authentication
Auth declared. Its hosted endpoint, as the official MCP registry lists it, asks for a key or a token before it will talk.
