Gives your AI agent a virtual card to spend from a balance you fund, managed from the command line.
Opendexter
dexterai · Agent
OpenDexter runs locally as a command line tool and proxy that connects your AI assistant to a hosted x402 runtime. Without signing in, your agent can search the hosted catalogue and read prices and requirements. Once you connect an account, it can read wallet and portfolio details and make a call, paid in USDC, after you approve a ceiling for it. Paid calls also need a live spending grant with limits, managed on the hosted wallet. Account-bound actions run on the hosted service, and eight tools are exposed.

Why it's useful
Your agent can discover and call paid APIs, with each paid call waiting for your approval of the most it may spend.
What you could do with it
- Ask your agent to search the hosted catalogue for an API that does a job and read its price and requirements.
- Connect an account through the sign-in flow, then have your agent read your hosted wallet and portfolio.
- Approve a ceiling for one call, let your agent make it, and check the call's status if the outcome is unclear.
Written from its documentation: what it says it can do, not what our checks found.
Maintenance
Not measuredNo release date is on record for this package yet. The nightly publisher check records one as it reaches each npm package, about once every ten nights.
Release activity only: it says nothing about quality or safety, and a finished small package can be fine without releases. How it is measured
What this does not cover
- Everything. Treat it as you would software from anywhere else.
Receipt history: every signed receipt for every version of this listing, and what changed between them.
In its maker's words
Local proxy for OpenDexter's hosted governed x402 runtime: eight tools for OAuth-bound intents, status recovery, wallet authority, portfolio reads, and current work reports.

Static scanned
- What it establishes
- Its published package, or for a hosted server its source repository at a recorded commit, was read file by file, without running it, by every check in our current scan.
- What it does not
- How it behaves when it runs, or anything the scan does not read yet: several rubric checks, the repository's history, and compiled code in folders named dist or build. For a hosted server, that the endpoint runs the code that was read. The ooruby Index sets out exactly what was read.
- Exactly what was read
- Version 1.25.2, the file with digest sha512-B/fsz2ulIepwnZIXqZ1Qxb7J3ggSNsvd2Vdf8t3ZOnbrudGttG5f4grV/DO7gIFwJ+TH5td3Tkw2FS0SHgop6w==, as the registry publishes it. A published version cannot be replaced, so this names the same bytes for anyone who checks.
- Authentication
- Runs locally. No hosted endpoint is listed for this package. You run it on your own machine, so there is no endpoint of ours to authenticate against.
Adding it
